Treatment summary

Results Achieved

  • Class I relationship achieved
  • Functional canine guidance on both sides
  • Posterior crossbite corrected
  • NormalĀ  overjet and overbite achieved
  • Deepbite improved
  • Overjet improved
  • Midlines coincident
  • Curve of Spee leveled
  • Arches aligned and coordinated
  • Alignment of both arches through derotation
  • Arch form improved
  • All treatment goals were achieved case
  • Harmonic arches were achieved

Total treatment Time

  • 16 months

Number of aligners

  • Maxillary: 42 + 16 = 58
  • Mandibular: 42 + 16 = 58

Aligner wear time

  • 1-week

Comments

  • This is a Class II case with a good profile
  • The treatment plan set up was to use sequential distalization to correct the Class II molar and canine relationship to Class I
  • Class II elastics were used with precision cuts, along with 5 mm. vertical conventional rectangular attachments on 1.3 and 2.3 to provide retention of the aligner due to the short crown
  • The Optimized rotation attachment on 3.5 was very effective for the derotation and alignment
  • Finally, the vertical elastics were used to close the posterior open bite in the additional aligner set

Retention

  • Maxillary: Vivera
  • Mandibular: Vivera
